History of Kipling bags
Kipling bags were founded in 1987 in Antwerp, Belgium and have now become one of the fastest growing fashion companies in Europe.
The head office is located in New York with product design and development remaining in Antwerp. Kipling has stores in over 55 countries around the world and has evolved from providing original styling and funactionality for travel bags to a worldwide fashion house that offers a range of holdalls and bags for a variety of lifestyles.
The Kipling brand name was derived from the writer, Rudyard Kipling, the famous creator of "The Jungle Book". The Kipling logo also draws upon one of Kipling's famous characters and this monkey logo appears on every bag. As a further tie in to the brand, a fluffy Orangutan keyring charm appears on certain bags and these charms can also be bought separately to attach to your Kipling bag or your keys. Each ape is named after a Kipling employee and every Kipling collection has it's own unique monkey.
There is a long line of celebrities who have been seen carrying Kipling bags or other Kipling carry alls.
